Difficult to photograph, the text is on a second, interior pane of glass so that it appears to float.  

These foetal kittens were the sad victims of an emergency pregnancy spay which saved the mother's life.

It is not uncommon for very lonely (and sensitive) children to have in depth conversations with animals, flowers or even inanimate objects.
